About the speakers

Christina M. Martin, PhD

Licensed Psychologist & Primary Therapist, Galen Hope

Christina Martin is a Licensed Psychologist at Galen Hope in South Florida. Christina received her Doctorate in Counseling Psychology from the University at Albany, State University of New York, and completed her clinical internship at the University of Miami Counseling Center. Christina’s approach to therapy is an integrative, anti-oppressive model of care. Christina is a therapist to adolescents and adults within the Eating-Disorder and Mental Health tracks and a group facilitator for the Partial Hospitalization and Intensive Outpatient Programs. Christina has worked extensively to establish psychological assessment implementation and training for therapists and doctoral interns of Galen Hope. Her research and professional interests include racial and ethnic identity development, antiracism training/advocacy, reducing stigma around mental health care and psychological testing within case conceptualization, and creating affirmative trauma-informed care.

Robert Blackgrove, PsyD

Dr. Blackgrove is an experienced therapist skilled in addressing a wide variety of issues and problems. In a relaxing and confidential environment, Dr. Blackgrove establishes trusting relationships to enhance clients' quality of life, functioning, health, and satisfaction.

Areas of expertise include anxiety, depression, relationship issues, couples therapy, family therapy, sex therapy, coping skills training, psychological testing, stress management, EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), and hypnosis. Dr. Blackgrove uniquely blends couples and sex therapy to provide innovative approaches for improving relationships. Personality testing is utilized to enhance the therapeutic process, helping couples better understand themselves and each other. Clients are taught essential skills to meet their needs more effectively and to function better together.

Dr. Blackgrove strives to provide high-quality psychological services in a very relaxing and peaceful environment.
